My husband was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago , my father has diabetes, and the mother and grandfather of my husband and I had diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that affects approximately 8.3% of the U.S. population - who is about 25.8 million people each year. Without proper care and feeding of a suit and exercise routine for a person with diabetes , the complications can be fatal.
Types of Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in previous years, such as children and young adults, and is the rarest form of diabetes. With this type , the body does not produce insulin , a hormone that is produced by the pancreas that converts starches, sugars and other food into energy needed .
The Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body does not properly use the insulin produced and is called insulin resistance . This is the most common type of diabetes . The body produces more insulin , in principle, to compensate the body does not use it properly, but the pancreas can not keep up with the time to maintain the sugar levels in the normal blood.
Gestational diabetes occurs when a woman develops diabetes during pregnancy , usually around the 24th week of pregnancy . Some women do not have diabetes after pregnancy and some women continue to have diabetes for the rest of their lives. Women who develop gestational diabetes should consult with your doctor and follow the advice of your doctor carefully .
Complications of Diabetes

Each person is different in how your body produces (or product) of insulin sensitivity to drugs, and what is a good guideline to follow to keep the sugar levels in the blood return to normal . However, here are some tips that can help most people with diabetes.
Diet - eat a healthy and balanced diet that includes foods from all food groups . However, make sure you keep your portions under control too . Avoid foods with added sugar and bad fats (eg trans fatty acids or partially hydrogenated oils ) . Eat foods that are high in fiber and whole grains , which have healthy fats (eg , nuts, olive , avocado , etc. ) and sugars and carbohydrates are limited.
Exercise
Regular exercise is important for maintaining a healthy weight and overall health , it makes sense that the year are included in this section . If you have not been exercising regularly and have diabetes, you should consult your physician before starting a fitness regime .
A person with diabetes should monitor their blood sugar before, during and after exercise. Checking blood sugar is too low or too high can help determine if it is safe to exercise if you need to eat more carbohydrates to increase the level of blood sugar , or if your blood sugar is too high and is sure not to exercise .
